Brief Description of Research Activities

In nature are wide-spread valuable minerals, represented by small-sized grains (gold, platinum, zirconium-titanium, tinstone etc.). An important task is small-sized valuable mineral prospecting, assessment and exploration using new environmentally friendly and low-cost methods. Such studies have been successfully carried out at Perm State University since 1961 г. To find valuable minerals small-sized devices are used. A unique cleaning unit SVM (small-sized valuable minerals) has been created. The studies focus on gravitational extraction of small-sized valuable minerals, whose share in nature is significant (in nature gold grains less than 0,1 mm in size dominate). The technology makes it possible to efficiently extract the whole spectrum of small-sized heavy minerals and split the enclosing sands into size fractions for different purposes.
