Current Research Activities
• Research of biochemical and genetic systems of transformation of organic compounds of bacteria prospective for biotechnology.
• Selection, chemical mutagenesis and genetic construction of microbial strains for biotransformation, biocatalysis and biodegradation of organic compounds.
• Development of biocatalytic technologies of synthesis of organic acids, amides, ethers and enantiomerically pure compounds for polymeric chemistry, medicine and ecological biotechnology on the basis of producer microorganisms selected from natural and anthropogenically inflected soils.
• Study of the processes of metabolism and biotransformation of derivates of carboxylic acids: nitriles, amides, complex ethers, aliphatic and aromatic acids; aromatic compounds: derivates of benzene, phenol, pyridine, quinoline, acridine and sulfur-containing aromatic compounds.
• Research of the ferments of metabolism of organic compounds: nitrile hydrase, nitrilase, amidase, carboxylesterase and aldoxime dehydratase.
• Study of the impact of various forms of immobilization on biocatalytic systems and biocatalysis.
• Research of plasmids and factors of resistance for the construction of vectors of cloning.
• Study of the metabolic fates of decomposing of mono- and polyaromatic compounds and their halogenated derivatives and the characteristics of key enzymes of transformation of these compounds in active bacteria-destructors.
