The students from Perm State University and University of Oxford have completed their internship in Khakassia, Tyva and Krasnoyarsk Krai


As a part of internship a group of students from Perm State University and University of Oxford spent 2.5 weeks in the Eastern Siberia exploring mineral resources under guidance of the PSU professors O. Kovin, O. Naumova, V. Naumov and V. Sovluk. The interns have visited the Kuznetsk Alatau deposits, the Minusinsk Depression, the foothills of the Western Sayan and the Tyva intermontane trough. Besides, they have seen the giant dam of the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant and assessed natural processes of the salt lake Dus-Khol.

During their internship the students investigated geological structure and compound of rocks and minerals, studied the technique of exploration and development of gold in alluvial rivers, washing of the samples on trays and screw machine. Also they traced vertical and horizontal zoning of climatic conditions, visited a plenty of towns and met the local cultures.

Now the interns are implementing laboratory studies of the collected materials.
