The Perm State University received the international status of CUDA Research Center

Perm State University has received the CUDA Research Center status. This status gives the international recognition to the University researches carried out with the help of graphic processors that is essential for the complex computing tasks solution.

The status was obtained due to the Program of Development for the National Research University within which two supercomputers were acquired.

The status gives our researchers the advantage to be involved in the exclusive events and work together with the leading researchers and scientists in the sphere of GPU computing. Also, the CUDA Research Center is given NVIDIA technical maintenance and the access to the special learning programs.

The participants of CUDA Research Center program have an early access to the latest software and graphics processors based on CUDA architecture.

With the opening of a new technical laboratory for high performance calculations the Permian scientists will get the additional resources, such as the newest accelerator NVIDIA Tesla K40.

Within the research project of the PSU faculties –the faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics and faculty of Physics- the most impressive results have been achieved. Multisequencing of the program code made it possible to get the results of modeling (simulation) for nanostructures magnetic properties in some days, instead of months of sequential calculations.

CUDA Research Center at PSU will be organized on the base of the Research and Education Center "Parallel and Distributed Computing".
