Perm State University students came back from a German language and culture seminar in Lüneburg

The seminar entitled ‘Germany’s culture and civilization: Lower Saxony – a cultural seminar’ concluded its work in Lüneburg. Students from Perm State University’s faculties, of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures, and of Philology took part in this event.
 
This year, the group was composed of the students Darina Gordeeva, Elizaveta Dudina, Vera Chiganaeva, Daria Burkhanova, the M.A graduate Tatiana Kudelko and the PhD student Olga Tumanova.
 
The participants attended lectures and master classes on modern German language and literature such as: ‘The Importance of Prefixes in German’, ‘2016’s last Splash! – Linguistic generalization of this year’s main events’, ‘History of Literature at the Turn of the Century’. They participated in theoretical and practical classes on the Lower Saxony history and culture, in topical seminars such as: ‘An Introduction to the German education System’, ‘How Teachers Stay Healthy?’
 
All the classes were led by famous professors and researchers from the universities of Lüneburg, Hamburg and Rostock.

Moreover, the programme included a visit of a German school and the observation of a lesson, excursions in Lüneburg, Hamburg, Bremen, and other cultural outings.

Within the framework of this seminar, took place the 3rd International Scientific Conference entitled ‘Language. Culture. Society’, during which the students presented the results of their research projects. This year the event coincided with the centenary of Perm State University.
 
The participants thanked the organizers and remarked the creative approach of the German lecturers, who prepared interesting and educational master classes, which were useful for the development of foreign languages-related knowledge and skills. The German colleagues praised the Permian students for their accomplishments and underscored the great quality of their language training.
 
The final event
 
This linguistic and cultural seminar was organized by the Centre for East – West co-operation with the assistance of Leuphana University (Lüneburg) under the aegis of a partnership agreement between Perm Kray and the Land of Lower Saxony.
