A Delegation From China University of Petroleum Visited Perm State University
Between October 12th and 15th, a delegation from China University of Petroleum (East China) visited Perm State University for the festivities of the centenary. The delegation was headed by Dr. Shao Cairui and included Drs. Zhang Fuming and Wei Zhoutuo, as well as Liang Xinping – translator. The delegation congratulated Perm State University’s Rector Prof. I. Makarikhin on the centenary and offered him gifts. The visitors also transmitted to the Rector a letter of congratulation from China University of Petroleum’s administration.
The guests attended numerous meetings with the Faculty of Geology’s Dean S. Blinov, the Head of the Geophysics Department Prof. V. Kostitsyn, and the professors from the faculty. The programme of the visit included the introduction of Russian and Chinese specialists to their counterparts sharing common research interests, scientific seminars organized by the Department of Geophysics, as well as discussions on the scientific and educational co-operation between the two universities.
The minutes resulting from these fruitful working sessions were drafted. Those documents are devoted to the implementation of ongoing research projects and the deepening of the co-operation in the oil field, especially as far as the academic and scientific mobility are concerned. This document is a roadmap designed for the implementation of students and teachers exchange programmes. It indicates the mutual interests of Chinese and Russian researchers in collaborative research projects, but also encourages the creation of the dual degree programmes.

A Letter of Understanding and an Exchange Agreement between China University of Petroleum and Perm State University were signed in 2014. Six students from China University of Petroleum attended classes at PSU’s Faculty of Geology in 2015, and 10 students participated in the Practical Field Trip this summer. Six new Chinese students enrolled in the Faculty of Geology this year. Three students from PSU are currently attending China University of Petroleum.
